Morning talk show here in Australia talking about i4S, annnnnnd then the N9
http://video.au.msn.com/watch/video/...leases/xm64lzs
He clearly didn't know much about it, nor care to
At least he wasn't totally scathing, he was probably more so to the iP4S, in some ways.

I downloaded navifirm program from here
http://www.4shared.com/get/wROoC52v/navifirm.html

[...]

Here is the cut and paste from Navifirm for the N9 variants

[...]
059K9G3: N9 RM-696 MTN ZA Black v1 16GB
[...]
059K9Q3: N9 RM-696 Vodacom ZA Black v1 16GB
[...]
059K3R2: RM-696 16G ZA BLACK SWAP
059K3R6: RM-696 16G ZA CYAN SWAP
059K3R4: RM-696 16G ZA MAGENTA SWAP
[...]
Ah, ZA variants show up (also weren't in MyNokiaBlog list), including operator-specific variants for Vodacom and MTN. But, all 16GB versions.

I think Nokia has missed something here, they could have considered offering operators their own colours. E.g., Vodacom has been on their whole 'Red' campaign for the last few months, and I am sure MTN would take a Yello' if they had the option, but it seems they'll both get black.

Let's hope they drop the price to something in the region of what the E7 goes for (typically R185/month on Business Call contract, whereas an Vodacom pamphlet from a few weeks ago apparently showed the N9 for R285 on the same contract).

If there's not too much of a pay-in on my current contract, it looks like I'll get 16GB Black then ...

Ohhh looky there. Philippine variants. That's what I get for relying on a google link instead of downloading navifirm and checking myself.
I think most likely they have been publishing more region-specific and operator-specific firmware as the release progresses (seeing as they are doing region-specific availability).

Other colors and 64gb models are not yet in stock and "are supposed to ship in early october".
But they only deliver to switzerland

I'm too lazy to do it myself, but can someone do a table adding a N9 column to thoses specs?
At first glance, the N9 seemed behind, but not so much compared to these devices.

Oh well, I already paid the guy in Denmark, can't back out now and I can't be for sure that it will release while I am there but I am sure it has been released in Denmark.

Some hint on where to get / safely pre order one:

for all countries that are left in the cold: I remember from the end of August Palm Pre 3 hunt that Expansys.fr was shipping even to USA and Canada. (where there actually was huge demand for the Pre 3 but no supply)

Pre orders at expansys.fr are not binding - they merely a matter of subscribing to being informed upon availability.

That said: I have called expansys.fr today but unfortunately they had no information from Nokia yet.
But that should be the job of product managers, not telephone operators of course.

Let the N9 virus (or antidote) spread all over the globe

The only notable thing on that list is it puts iphone right down in spec.
