I love tabs on a desktop PC & I think I would go nuts without them. But I don't like them on the NIT so far. Issues I see:
1. Navigating between web pages - using the swap key seems to be fast & friendly. I haven't tried Midori, but Fennec's "drag left for tabs and then select" seemed slow last time I checked. And I don't think I want the tabs taking up valuable screen space.
2. Opening a new page - most of the time, I wish that when I open up a new window, the old window would keep the focus. There, it's possible that tabs would help.
3. Having tons of apps open at once - there, again, I can see a case for tabs vs. using the swap key. But I try not to have more than a few apps open at once.

@ pinguino89

I usually copy the web address
and paste it into "mYTube" to watch.

For me, video in Tear sometimes works as quickly as in that work around, but in mYTube I can see the buffering progress.

Hi,

I just discovered Tear today and am thrilled there's a) an alternative to microbe which is b) actively developed.

Now what bothers me is that other apps (and especially the internet search applet) are hardwired to call microbe. I've read about that py proxy but it's big (carrying whole python) and slow.

So is there in principle a way to make microbe a drag in replacement by just editing com.nokia.osso_browser.service to exec tear? I know nearly anything about D-Bus but if the py script can implement theosso_browser interface, can't tear too?

Thanks,
Robert

Just making sure I didn't miss something:

Is it possible yet to have folders in the bookmarks?

(I have my MicroB bookmarks as an html page, but since I am usually in tear, it's not convenient to keep using the MicroB bookmarks; if I want a new bookmark for a webpage I come across in tear, I have to open MicroB to put it in a folder, and then I have to re-create the filed html page that I access with tear.)

Nope, but using the thread I just posted, you can open the default bookmarks in Tear (or so I heard

Not so far away from 1000 posts anymore, maybe we'll get Tear 0.4 soon!
