this how to flash a kernel on-device (without USB/flasher 3.5):

1. you have self-compiled /path/zImage (with it's modules installed)
2. package sdk-fiasco-gen from SDK is installed
3. fiasco-gen -o /path/zImage.fiasco -g -k /path/zImage
4. /sbin/fiasco-image-update /path/zImage.fiasco

Has anyone test the 125-900 kernel with 1 hour continious use of gps or psx4all emulator.

Also is it true , that after the modded kernel the nokia software
updates are not recognised and you have to do it manually , through flasher

Hello everyone!

I've been running the 900 kernel for 12 hours with no issues. This fracking awesome, thanks Lehto!

My java test showed 11513 +/- 8.4% on the Fennec nightly build.

Could we maybe integrate this with the extra-devel kernel that allows for ext4 and such? would be awesome ;P

Will probably be sticking at 800 until we get longer term testing going at higher clock speeds.

Regards,

Vlad

If I overclock the N900 then I'll void the warranty right?
I think my N900 is one of those units which microUSB plug will de-tach after some time. My N900 is bought in the beginning of December... Won't the warranty fix the USB plug if I have overclocked the N900, even the overclock doesn't break anything? If I somehow can flash the stock kernel back, how can Nokia know the N900 has been overclocked?

Can anybody verify this?

For those who have overclock their device, can you try to connect to PC-Suite or NSU, see if it able to detect your phone/device?

Thanks in advance!

If anyone is keeping a list of users tricked into this, add me to it. I'm in the cautious 800 mhz group. All seems well so far.

Hope it helps
