Is it a live CD or a fresh installation? Is it a virtual machine?

Btw, the link I did in my first response has another way, all throught windows.

i installed the live cd straight off the website and when i reboot and select ubuntu i have to enter a password

Then why don't you type your password? I mean, it did ask for you a password, if you installed in the machine...

i enter a password to log into ubuntu, but whenever i type the command in the terminal it also ask for password

After sudo you need to type the password, and that won't be shown. You'll not see anything while typing the password after sudo.

Sudo chmod +x sixpair [enter]
*type your password, but won't show anything* [enter]
*it shows if the password was right or wrong*

Why not to try via windows? Have you ever heard of motionjoy? It is on that thread I linked some time ago.

tried it a while back n my computer started to feel ill, so i put that aside and foccused more on glove pie, which almost worked.
