If VLC can play it, then Knots should be working just fine. And client thinks it's playing because VLC says it's playing, but the actual player can't access it at port 19780. So you get progress bar etc, but not the actual music stream until player times out. So if possible, try closing all software firewalls and virus scanners (disconnect from internet just in case) and test. For some reason these issues seem to only happen on 64-bit Windows, but I've heard success stories too.

EDIT: Oh and forgot to ask, can you get audio / video if you use the browser to play stuff with the Browser profile?
First, Thank you for spending your time helping me.
I did not really do exactly what you say like start VLC and open the link you provided or turn off any anti -virus software.
But what i did is just :
I open Knot configure server ( of course in browser). Then i choose 1 song for example with this path: Album/one/forever.mp3
I play the song just fine.
Then i stop the song. And stream the phone and pc. I play a song on my phone ( no sound at this time) , and also use knot browser to play a song ( has sound), and I am using VLC player play a song too ( it plays).

Next i try to play a song by both knot browser and on my phone at the same time. The browser loading the song but no sound. and knot2 on my phone appear loading indicator and play the song with sound.
And at this time i think it working. But not.
I close the knot browser on my pc. I play the song agian on my phone. It is no sound again.

I dont know what is wrong here.
I must open knot browser and choose a song play it at the same time with knot on my phone to get it work on my phone.
If i stop playing a song ( actually load it) the knot on my phone will produce no saound

Wow, this sure sounds like a VLC issue, it seems like it's failing to transcode audio sometimes. Can you edit the N900 profile and test different audio codecs, change audio format from mp3 to mpga and save the profile and test again with just the client. You can try mp2a, mp2, mp4a instead of mp3. Let me know if any of those produce sound for you when you try with just the client.

Edit: Another thing you could test is to change the VLC port range start setting from 19780 to 19781. If you get sound only when there are two streams, it's possible that your firewall doesn't allow connection to port 19780 but 19781 works.

Thanks bro !
It is working now.
The problem was the Port. I changed the port to 19871 and it does work.
I did not think of firewall because i tried to turn it off yesterday. but it did not work.
I dont know why..it may be the port 19870 not work for my win7 64bits

You must have some firewall rule that only allows to connect to port 19780 from the same machine but not from other computers on your network. Can you tell me what firewall and what virus scanner you are using?

I am using Kaspersky Internet security 2010, and Pc spyware doctor.
I am using Firewall of KIS not the firewall of window7.
When i check the firewall. I saw VLC is under Low restricted for any nwtwork connection.

Right, Kaspersky. There's probably your culprit as it acts as a firewall too. Shutting it down and changing the port back to 19780 would probably make Knots work by default, but glad it now works so don't change anything.

I just hope people will make sure that firewalls aren't blocking knots, it goes beyond my duty to fix people's networks.

FYI the 2010_05_25 server install for windows causes AVG to warn about a potentially unwanted program: RemoteAdmin.BX.

Some scanners warn about netcat.exe, but it's totally harmless, I just use it to scan VDR channels and EPG.

I know it was asked once, but there was no real answer. Is there anyway to play video coming from netflix, through knots 2? Also, I was wondering if there was an easier way to add all music to one playlist at once, rather than adding it once song at a time. Excellent program btw, it's one more addition that makes my N810 worth it! Thanks!
