go1dfish:

So do you run:

Code:
pasuspender -- debbie appname
Also, did you install zenity and habak and then run "debbie xephwm5" to get LXDE started? Do you get the dialog box popping up? You should get keyboard after you hit OK on the dialog box...

New package (0.35) sent to Extras-devel. This fixes the image installer.

Sorry folks for the screw-up. Thanks for your patience.

A quick question:

I use gvim with LaTeX suite in easy debian (works like a charm!) but I really miss an escape key to change modes. Isn't there a shortcut for 'escape' on the n900's keyboard? Since I'm using a gui there isn't the handy x-term button.

hstende: Your keyboard mapping should be copied over from Maemo if you do the following:

Code:
sudo closechroot
touch ~/.synchroot
debbie test
You might also have to set your locale using dpkg-reconfigure locales.

twoboxen: The new version of the package (0.34), using the new image (debian-m5-v2), or your old image with my chroot-changes.tgz package, should get your keyboard working. And if you lose the keyboard (this happens to me if I switch away for a while), there should be a new icon with a keyboard, screwdriver, and wrench in front of the red diamond with the "d". Click on that and it will get keyboard focus back again.
I am guetting the same has I am trying to put it on my sd or mydoc...

JD2010: I need to know what version of Easy Debian you have installed. Go to your App Manager and then "Uninstall".

Find "easy-deb-chroot" and make sure the version number is 0.9.35-1fremantle1 (or higher ).

If it isn't, go back to "Update" and get the new version. Then try installing the image file again.

For me 0.9.35-1fremantle1 extract "debian-m5-v2.img.ext2.bz2" properly...

Nokia-N900-42-11:/# debian
Chroot dir specified: /.debian
No image file or partition specified.
/.debian has a qmount already!
/home/user/MyDocs/debian-m5-v2.img.ext2 already mounted on /.debian...
Everything set up, running chroot...
[root@chroot: /]

Thanks

Yep, that's it it will suspend pulseaudio until the process after the -- returns.

Note that if you want to be extra careful, there is a toggle switch to turn speakers on/off in:
Code:
alsamixer -c 0

Thanks much, that worked, I was using the LXDE app shortcut before (but had already installed zenity and habak).
