Lets start:
Does iphone and android phones can boot 2 or more os as N900 does?
Iphone and android win in game section, but don't forget. u can boot nitdroid for android games and preenv for webos games on your maemo, and if dalvik comes android will be in maemo.
Can they use h-e-n app? Use usb and hard disk on NTFS? N900 can do this buy installing Power-kernel thats all.
Can they use Dual shock 3? Can they use touchscreen amulation to play games on tv with dual schock 3?
Ofcourse newer phones have more powerfull processor-more ram-more powerfull GPU. N900 is 2 years old (or more) and with overclock to 1100mhz (stable for me) is more powerfull than iphone 4 and hd desire 2. Ram is only 256 on N900 but it use swap memory pretty good to work like it has 1gb ram - android and iphone don't have swap hahaha.
and much more.
Think of it. Maemo is LINUX-The most complete open source and hacking software. CSSU make n900 better than before after 2 years - only few phones survive after 2 years/.

What happens here is akin to an idiot coming into a village, wearing attention grabbing costume and shouting loud jibberish nonsense.... and everyone in the village comes out of their houses to say 'shush!!!' to the guy; but inadvertantly giving him the attention that he seeks and (unfortunately) drawing more attention and a bigger crowd around the jester instead.

Actually some android devices has h-e-n (usb otg). Some devs are working on booting meego on android devices. Even some devices can boot ubuntu 10.10 (i think its that version), don't know how much is working, afaik it's working, not only proof of concept.
Why is it when ever somebody says anything slightly negative about the N900 they get flamed here on TMO, it's like it's forbidden to say non positive things about the N900?
It's a great device at many points but has its flaws and that's why I've changed device after one year with my N900.
I'm not agreeing with the op at all, leave if you want to leave without a roooaaarrr.
That said this is the most unfriendly forum, I've encountered, if you don't step with caution.
I'm currently on xda.dev.forum and have yet to come across somebody getting flamed there. Yes people disagree there to, but not to the extend of being flamed like here.
Maemo is not the only UI and not the best and not the weakest and the same goes for the N900.
I'm very happy for my year here and am still using my N900 for gimp and mypaint.
Just think it's sad with theese threads, the flamers just lacks tolerance and understanding to somebody with an other opinion.
And what do you care if somebody dislike the N900 does your phone/experience get any less or bad, does it really affect your standpoint on the N900. Does it make you insecure for some reason. I just don't understand were that hate comes from.

Are you undervolting? Do you understand that the theory of overclocking/undervolting is based not on the idea that there are generalized specs for all N900s but that your N900 has specs that you need to discover?

Basically go with what works for you but go with grace, i don't go to android forums and say that android is crap, this is basically what OP did, by comparing something so stupid as number of apps.....

Hello my beloved fellowers,
The nokia was released in November 11, 2009 and I was on of the first that got it at this.
After the release of Android Phones and the iPhone 4, the n900's appearance was already damaged alot could't stand the pace with other phones, but it was still alright.
Now the warship Apple want's to release the iPhone 5 which is going to have alot of new features like the previous phones, the changes are like a iPhone 3 to a iPhone 3gs, its immense and unbelievable. Steve Jobs is doing an amazing job by the way.
But that is not all, the hallower google in corporation with Samsung threw a new AGP-Phone into the market, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 which has a 1.2 GHZ Dual Processor and even has the power to emulate Windows XP or play high-graphic-quality games.
Also the marketplace is by FAR better then Maemo's marketplace,
iPhone Marketplace: 2.000.000 Million Apps
Android Marketplace: 1.000.000 MIllion Applications
Maemo Marketplace 1.000 (REALLY?? THATS ALL?? YES!!)
Just look at the iPhone and Anroid Forums, only nice persons that will take you srsly

It was nice while it lasted but there are alot of better phones now that can do way more then N900.

Will I be forced to upgrade to next offering from Apple because I will socially be not cool anymore if I am not on the current version of Iphone?
Oh and last one, how many applications are you going to use out of the millions available on Android or Iphone in your life time?

My cat, who, as we all know, has nine lives, is scared of my n900. My n900 has six toes on every feet for more stability. It can smell corpses from miles away. On my behalf it takes care of the communication with my mother in law (al though, admittedly, it does so in German, which she doesn´t speak). My n900 herds my cattle. It rubs my back when I come home exhausted and when I need a friend to really talk to me, e-speak awaits me patiently for some true philosophical advise on the issues of life.
