My wish list is fairly straight forward.

1. Slideout keyboard. Killer feature for me.
2. Video problems fixed. If Nokia haven't fixed this then it plainly obvious they aren't trying.
3. Full speed Flash. Again. You can't have a focus on Web2.0 without working flash.
4. Increases in cpu speed and memory. I'd have thought this would be the one thing we could be sure of.
5. While I personally don't have much use for GPS I certainly wouldn't complain if it was added. I'm sure I could find something fun to do with it.
6. BT PAN support. Who knows. I might end up with a phone that uses it one day and plenty of other people need the support.
7. PIM apps. Not a half hearted job either. People see this device and think it's either a phone or a PDA. Doesn't that show a need for PDA style apps?
8. For heavens sake ditch the current media player and get the backend running MPlayer. We'll thank you for it Nokia. Honestly.
9. Internal harddrive would be nice but it isn't a deal breaker.
10. Give us a hard case back.
11. Make the top buttons more like they were on the 770.

The host mode port should of course be powered to be useful. Then we could also charge the device by plugging a USB cable from the host port to the client port.. d*mn, I'm going to patent that idea!

Well, looks like almost none of my hardware concerns were addressed. Right down to the fact that they moved the menu and dpad buttons down to the keyboard. Have to wait and see if the software concerns were addressed.

It's pretty, a well done design, except for the menu button and dpad placement (I'd have put it on the right side of the screen).

Will I buy it? I dunno. Depends on when we see the FCC docs for the WiMAX version. I might wait for that one.

From Nokia's nseries page, I can see at least one of my software concerns was not addressed:

Bluetooth doesn't list PAN support.

Also, there are multiple variants of the N810 it seems (quoted from their tech specs page):

HW keyboard variants: English, German, French, Italian, Spanish-Portuguese, Scandinavian and Russian

Slight reduction in camera capability: it's now only user facing, making it harder to use it as a regular camera. Personally, I have no use for a chat cam, but wouldn't mind having a photograph/video camera.

More RAM is good. 2GB internal memory, but it looks like it only has 1 card slot ... so, the internal slot is now dedicated to 2GB? That's what I've got in mine now. But now that they officially support SDHC cards, you wont be able to put a 16GB card for internal use? Not a good change.

Though, I will say, the door for the memory card looks more impressive than the N800's.

I do really wish they had done a slide'n'tilt instead of the N800 style stand (where you could tilt without sliding, so that it looks like an inverted laptop (screen facing outward instead of inward), and you get that as your desk stand for it).

Oh well. Life goes on.
