I love minimo - there is one site I visit several times a day which crashes on the built-in opera version. Minimo displays in perfectly. This improved my 770-experience a lot!

My only wish (apart from full hildon-integration, hardware-key supoort incl. full-screen etc.) is something that I think was on low-low-priority:

90° screen rotation! It's something fbreader does and from the day I saw it, I wanted it for surfing. There are those sites with lots of text (documentation, news, manuals, mailing list archives etc.) ... they are so much easier to read on a screen thats narrow. (What I do now is I save those pages locally where possible and open them with fbreader - there should be a more user friendly way ;-) .....)

Anybody else who wants this feature?

Hi,

the Minimo port looks nice so far.

There are a few things which caught my attention:

If you have more than one open tab,
and switch from normal view to maximized view,
all tabs are hidden.
To see the tabs again, you have to open a new (empty) tab.
Also, the 'start maximized/fullscreen' isn't persistent.

In the desktop version of FF, there's a *very* useful feature
for bookmarks called 'open in tabs', which opens all bookmarks
of the current bookmark folder simultaneously,
each link in a separate tab.

The settings dialog of FF also allows to specify start mode,
and if a tab is visible when only one window is open.

In the current version, Minimo for 770 instantly opens the
on-screen keyboard when you open a web page where
the focus item is a datafield.
IMHO it would be nicer if the keyboard would pop up only
if you either tap into the field, or press the OK button
in the cursor ring key.

Another thing:
I'd like to use the standard N770 'maximize' key to toggle between
normal and fullscreen view,
the +/- rocker key for font size increase/decrease,
the menu key for the Minimo menu,
and so on.

Would this be possible?

There are some more things, but these are the ones I have in mind currently.

Nonetheless, the Minimo port is a great piece of software,
congrats for that:-)

Regards

Ray

Have you raised an issue in the Maemo Bugzilla if the site regularly crashes the 770? Even if you're using Minimo, it'd make sense to try and get Opera as good as possible in the meantime.

Cheers,

Andrew
