I prefer the updates to the ability to update easily

A quick review of what's new would be cool.
We know that modest is now the email client (cooool). The map app has been updated too, but what's new in it?
For some youtube is faster, for another it's slower, so? any other opinion?
I'd like to know if screen rotation is part of the update too.
Anything else noticed?

Screen rotation is not there - no one expected it to be

It doesnt work for me:

- missing libssl, flash-and-reboot, initfs-flasher, kernel-diabolo-flasher, etc.

I think I'll wait. At least til the clone issue is solved.
Even then, a couple of weeks to watch how is going on with my favourite apps

Just create a new catalog with the following info:

Catalog name: maemo Extras chinook
Web address: http://repository.maemo.org/extras/
Distrbution: chinook
Components: free non-free

That's all. The old applications will appear as installable applications.

Well, now it is official, I can dump my tablet.
With an email-client spitting out an "Internal Error" every time it checks for new mails I'll have to downgrad to chinook again.

Don't get me wrong, but this sucks. I paid good money for my NIT and now I can't use the new firmware just because the better and improved email client can't keep up with the old and clumsy one?

SSU, AGPS and all the other stuff may be fun, but damn, I want to get my emails!

Just read in another thread, there is AGPS in this release. Should advertise on this.

FYI, I went to xterm and wanted to install joe - it said these three packages were needed and weren't installed. If you can get to root, and type "apt-get -f install" they should install.

Now the question is... was there a good reason they weren't installed? 'Cause if so, I've just ignored that good reason.
