Sorry, not yet. They're still working on it. It's still in the early phases of making it work on these devices. Stay tuned though, it'll get there eventually.

You also might want to check out the threads about Mer, which is derived from Ubuntu and might be a little easier for you to install.

b-man,
I put a how to install E17 in this thread: http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...0&postcount=80

Could you put a link to the post in your original post on the thread? I didn't want to start a new thread since this is just a variation of ubuntu that can even be used along with gnome.

THanks!

Shure!

Also, i'm currently working on a pre-alpha installer for Ubuntu witch will be based off of the mer imager and installer witch will give you the option to download a rootstrap.tar.gz or to bootstrap the base system and then allow you to install a desktop env of your choice.

I've just updated the first post to include the E17 instructions and i've added a link to the top of the first post to include the new Ubuntu-n8x0-screenshot-gallery and i've added a updated screenshot to the bottom post.

B-man,
I noticed you have it running, but I never could get compiz to start in gnome. I did turn off the hardware discovery daemon and a few others, is that why iI'm having trouble or do I need to install some additional kernel modules? ( I noticed recently that there are a few kernel debs I haven't installed in the Mer repos).

Install the mesa-sw-x11 packages and then enable compositing using gconf-editor (if you are using metacity it's in the apps>metacity>general section)

Wireless now working in Ubuntu - thanks to neatojones

You can get wireless working by editing your /etc/network/interfaces file to look like the following;

Code:
#
# Package tablet-network-setup
# Interfaces you would like to automatically come up at boot. Include wlan0
# here if you want it to come up at boot.

auto lo usb0 wlan0
iface lo inet loopback

# USB cable interface
iface usb0 inet static
	address 192.168.2.2
	netmask 255.255.255.0
	gateway 192.168.2.1

# /usr/share/doc/ifupdown/examples for more information.

# Instead of using this, NetworkManager is recommended, but if you have
# excluded this in install, you may set wireless connect at boot here.
#

# If you have a wireless network at home you would like the tablet to
# connect to automatically at boot

iface wlan0 inet dhcp

# this will enable power saving (maximum), like on maemo
# maemo normally has it at 200u but switches to 100u when system inactive
# - since we don't have powered / mce / something that speaks dsme just yet
# we can't get this information.
#	up iwconfig wlan0 power 200u multicast
#
#	wpa-ssid SSID
#	wpa-psk Password

I'll add this to the guide and i'll provide an update for tablet-network-setup to include the changes
