Ok, thanks for the report, I'm gonna take a loot into it.

This process can certainly be improved, but just as a note (not sure you're aware of that), you can create/change thumbnails for specific movies once you're watching them by selecting the Options menu, there should be a Generate thumbnail option there.

Could you please send me some of these ? Canola Tuning should be finding those covers I think.

So what do I do?
I'm almost certain that this is related to you not being on the latest OS version. Are you using Diablo ?

Also I read that there was now a home screen applet, but I don't see it in my applet list. How do I get it to show up?

I saw the option 'use alternate thumb screen' in the general opttions, but could not figure out what it did. I enabled it,but didn't see where the change was.

Thanks,

You could get rid of the empty genres by resetting the database and starting again (there's an option for this on the Settings menu) or deleting them by hand from the database (if you're familiar with SQL).
Could you please provide me with one or two files that exhibit that problem ?

Regarding the alternate thumb screen, it's the screen that appears when you click Photos -> My Photos -> All Photos

Mine is N800 running Diablo.

Thanks
You do not need to uninstall, you just need to enable the extras-devel repository for it to become available for updating *or* wait until it goes up to Extras (should be quite soon).

Oh, I've noticed that the scrolling speed seems to be more accurate now, with the list going flying when you give it a big flick, as it should. Now I can reach my last few songs, thanks guys!

And how soon is that?

I don't enable extras-dev because I've gotten multiple library conflicts that interfere with my other installed apps when I've done it previously.

You can enable, download your Canola stuff, ignore all the updates, then disable it. Should cause no problems.

Or.... they can just put it in Extras, if it's ready -- which they say it is.

Believe me, I understand there's always a more complicated way to get things done if you reeeeally want it done. But I'm an end-user (remember us?). I like my apps public-ready and in Extras.

Well, the reason they go to extras-devel first is because this way we can make sure to iron out any bugs/problems. We're working on fixing some of the issues reported here for this release before bumping it to extras, I *believe* the bump to extras should happen quite quickly, but that's not only for me to decide. Believe me when I say it, we all want this to be on Extras as soon as possible (dealing with upgrading issues is one of the most boring parts of an otherwise wonderful job).
As soon as I've any idea of when it will be bumped to Extras, I'll post here. Cheers,
