Here's some more of my naive optimism:

First, I hope you're wrong that the Fremantle kernel won't support the n8x0. If you know that it won't, I would appreciate any links you have. I naively doubt you're right because of the n8x0 stuff in the Fremantle Alpha kernel source. Look in this directory:

arch/arm/mach-omap2

Second, if you are right, and the kernel distributed with Fremantle doesn't support the n8x0, once the RX-51 is out, that kernel source should be light-years easier to patch than the Diablo kernel.

That's just part of the ARM kernel tree. Nothing too fancy

Are you saying with the right .config file that it could replace the Diablo kernel on an n8x0?

made truckloads of their mediocre knock-offs, and proceded to drink so much of it that it was banned. Those French. Sigh.
It's a question of climate and elocution, really. By the time a Swiss finishes a polite greeting, a Frenchman from the Côte d'Azur will have gone through his entire genealogy tree, and also his third absinthe or pastis, because sea, sun and speaking fast make thirsty, oui ?
And I bootlegged nothing.
Awrite. Wuz just makin' a good story better, got carried away by the C-Base atmasphere 'n all that. Slurry^WSorry...

I'm going on solca's sad little post:

Basically kernel support for Nokia Internet Tablets is eroding with time, I tried to fix some things but I am not a good kernel developer so someone else will need to step in and fix the kernel.
That really got me down.

Excellent. So anyone willing to do that if they lose?

I wish solca would look at the 2.6.27 Fremantle Alpha kernel source and give another opinion. And remember, Stskeeps had some 2.6.28 success with a 770. We need a meeting of some of these minds.

I wish solca and Stskeeps would join fanoush in betting that the Pandora ships first, and then they could all contribute to my prize of a fully-functional N8x0 Fremantle kernel when the Nokia device ships long before the Pandora.

More importantly, I need something to offer in return. Something I could theoretically do, but really I don't have to worry about actually doing, since the Pandora won't ship first. If at all.

Probably no. There are parts missing.

Bummer. I'll have to take a look at my notes. I did some diffs on those trees and I thought my last impression was that it was just going to be tedious. Not impossible. Can you be more specific about places where you think I might run into a brick wall?
