I have to say whilst i love my n900 i'm very disappointed with the level of development from nokia direct.
I'm always checking ovistore everyday like a mad man trying to see if new apps have been released...however i'm learning this is a pointless exercise
The n900 is such a powerful device and i would love to see someone develop games or apps that use the device to its full potential

I think the problem stems from the 'beta' label of Ovi for the N900. It's not beta by any development methodology I know of. It's closer to a tech demo, with the impression that a lot of things were apparently done manually just to have something out the door, and are probably not representative of real-life, yet to come Ovi QA procedures.
@nathaneous: take a look at extras. A lot of good stuff there, though a bit short in the games department.

I hear what your saying in regards to games and apps via extras. The only problem is that i'm very new to this maemo os and from what i've read quite alot of the extras apps have the ability to brick your phone if your not careful
I would rather be safe than sorry so i only download a few of the apps and games from extras. I trust ovistore to deliver none-harmful content on most occassions so i'm banking on nokia to pull their finger out

There is nothing harmful about the apps in extras, so long as you dont enable extras-devel and extras-testing

As cartoon_head says, Extras is fine, and I'd say it has a better QA at the moment than Ovi has If you stay away from the devel and testing stuff you'll be fine.
