The problem with anything like this is that it'd require a ground-up reimplementation of karma. Personally, I think karma should have a half-life and the contributions people made back in 2005 are less valuable today than the contributions they're making now.

Really, we want karma to encourage more numerous, but smaller, edits.

Should wiki edits that were flagged "minor" receive less (or no) karma though? I check that box for almost all of my edits, as they're mostly of the grammar, spelling, and sentence flow variety. (Yes, I know. I'm the "horrible fairy".)

Trying to add something useful to this discussion, but most of my ideas keep centering around how 'karma' seems to encourage grandstanding or individuals vs community building.

Interesting... many people seem to have lost significant karma... glitch, entropy, ?

To all my Maemo friends. I will no longer be monitoring any of my threads here on a regular basis. I am no longer supporting anything I did under maemo at maemo.org. If you need some help with something you can reach me at tablethacker.com or www.facebook.com/penguinbait. I have disabled my PM's here, and removed myself from Council email and Community mailing list. There has been some fun times, see you around.
