F#¤"!"ing stupid with no portrait mode on a smartphone unit !!
Preparing my N900 for sale.. And by reading this forum it is pretty obvious I am not alone about this portrait issue!!
Thanks for your reply, I guess it may be difficult to get something from any official source about this..

One handed operation to do what though? Phone is already in portrait, browser is part-way there. Conversations would definitely be useful in portrait - other than that it's mostly third-party apps I use, which is down to their devs to implement portrait mode.
