It's never meant to run as root.
Seems like something went wrong with the install....
I recommend uninstalling, check that you have rootsh, expect, gstreamer-tools installed first. Then install the app, but use "sudo dpkg" from a normal shell, and not a root shell.

Other than that, Im not really sure...

Edit: Also, the app 'tester' also appears as "PhoneStreamer" in the app menu, so you might indeed have had tester installed, and not PhoneStreamer

cant think of a reason why it would ask you that unless you dont have rootsh installed...

Have you installed rootsh from application manager?

I just installed using app manager and then ran it via terminal, not it runs without root, but still crashes at generate. And in terminal it says "password:Segmentation fault" .Any idea what that means??

Yeah im using rootsh since i bought the phone a year ago...and rite now i just tried force install again and it says it is latest version!!! Heres my guess, the first time i installed, i didnt have "expect" and so it kinda partially iinstalled and then when i ran it, the main gui window popped up just fine so i put in my ip and port digits and then pressed generate and it crashed after few secs. So maybe theres a config file that needs to be removed to make it work....Any suggestions?

hmm... that I used to get that exact same error when I ran as root...
Have you tried doing again "/usr/bin/PhoneStreamer" or "/usr/bin/tester" and then tried generating?
