it is with x-terminal

so if you don't have rootsh
install it from application manager first then go to xterminal and write:

sudo gainroot

apt-get install swappolube

That should install the gui version of swappolube (i think)

EDIT : No need for sir
Im 15 years old only

Yes of course you need
and for benchmark you can check replys in pages 4 , 5 , 6
you will notice an improvement of multi tasking and scroling in contacts photos etc....
and every thing else

Just read the pages and see what to do

Hi Karam

I appreciate your works trully. I already applied and here's a little feed back.

The thing with the scrolling seems to work for me a little. I'll say 2x faster not that noticable sorry.

So far with the multi tasking I say everything seems to work. (I hope as time goes on) This is the main reason Why I want to try this Because putting too much stress on multi task will slow it down. (ram issues)

But I hope this script you made will help it lessen that. Will have to test it longer. Till then. Great job

Just a little request though. Can you make a guide on how to remove the patch? Thanls.

Well Thanks for the feed back

BTW if you did the patch and the tweaks are done and compared with a freshly flashed N900
you will surely notice a lot of diffrences but probably you already have most of tweaks on your N900 so the script alone will improve
a bit of things

Oh and actually 80% of the script effect improves the multitask (the most noticable thing)

Anyway for removing the patch
I have already posted it in the first post

here it is again :

rm /etcr/c.local.backup.txt
rm /etc/rc.local
rm /etc/event.d/speedpatch

And then reboot

But to be honest i didn't check if this will remove it completely (But it should)

As it will not effect anything else

Hope you Enjoy

I think you mean rm /etc/rc.local.backup.txt
However, that file doesn't exist on my N900. /etc/rc.local is also empty. I am wondering if I have sucesfully installed this patch. Is it normal that those two files don't make sense?

I can now confirm it. That multi tasking is much, MUCH better now. I will recommend this in our filipino based forum. Thanks a million Karam. And keep sharing

PS this is the only patch I used. I don't use swappolube. Once again HUGE thanks.

Yes for N900 is normal
This patch has about 3 ways inside of i didn't have time to check wich one is the most effective on N900

but defenetly it is not the way connected ro rc.local
If you launched this patch in a desktop PC it will get applied and the
rc.local will not be empty

So this patch works for Maemo5 N900 - Linux (Any one)
