It's examples like this that make me despair at Nokia - their online store is abysmal, it's impossible to even buy replacement styluses for the 770/N800 unless you know the "hidden" link to the relevant pages! Sort it out Nokia... if your online shop is this bad, forget about trying to build a services portal.
You're 200% right: I found the "buy" option only through the tableeter link, when I was using another pc it was an uphill battle to find the nokia store.

The nokia n 800 case has been on sale @ amazon.com for about a month. I like mine very much.

I found with the new case the N800 fits snugly in its original case for extra protection. For me the new case is a great addtion.

When I click on the "Buy it now" link in Tableteer, it takes me to the Nokia site, which asks for my location (UK) then dumps me in the Nokia UK home page with no sign of the case that I'm trying to buy... it's impossible to find the case at all from that point onwards. Tableteer is an even bigger tease than the main site, as Tableteer offers a direct link to buy the case which is a dead end. Makes me wonder how Nokia manage to sell anything.

Doesn't anyone from Nokia bother to test this sh1t before publicly showing how incompetent they are?

I now tried all the european countries and they all have the case available (unsurprising, since the online shop for all of them is managed by the same company in Belgium). The UK shop is the exception: it seems it's managed directly by nokia uk (or a different contractor than the rest of europe).

I am looking to purchase the red version of the official case, but cannot find it for US purchase. The Italian Nokia site sells it, but it does not seem to ship anywhere other than Italy.

Anyone have any luck getting a red one in the US?

That's not totally true. I can see it is available on all the EU online stores (both red and black).
It's missing in UK and US tho.

I only see it at Amazon through 2nd party resellers for about $30 plus $7 shipping. Buy.com has it for $31 with free shipping.

The EU Nokia store (for my case, the Italian one) has it for 29€ + 5€ 1 day UPS shipping, that is 34€ total.
That makes for about $47. Yes, cheaper the the UK store, but still...

You guys in the US are lucky as you can have it for a lot cheaper price ($31 is circa 22€ !) that us in EU (consider also that Nokia is an EU company) even if you're limited a the black version.

Ahhh, the neverending search for the perfect case. I have two options for you all, including pics!

The first is the Case Logic hard drive case. I have a couple of these for external laptop hard drives and they work great. The case is hard, but not that hard and has an internal pocket for cables. It's big enough for the AC adapter, the USB cable and spare battery. You'll see some foam lining in the case. I actually added that myself because the hard drive was a little loose in there. Turns out it works great with the Nokia in there too and helps keep it snug. You can buy this case online or locally at Best Buy, Staples, etc.

The second case is the Slappa PSP Daily case. I've had this one for a while too but didn't think to try it until today so I did and it works great too. This case is a bit harder than the Case Logic, but doesn't have the hard plastic outer shell. It has a middle protective flap too, to separate the PSP from the internal pocket. The pocket is big enough for the adapter and USB cable, but closing it is a bit tight with the adapter in there. I'd still be worried about the adapter pressing too hard against the Nokia's screen if you put it in face up, but you can always put the Nokia in face down so the screen is even more protected. There are two extra smaller pockets on the middle flap that you can put an extra battery (or two) in. Since the Slappa is designed for the PSP, the case is rounded to match the PSP's shape. If you get this, it's a good idea to get some of that foam lining to make the rounded sides more square to fit the Nokia. I think the Slappa PSP case is only available online. I haven't seen it anywhere retail, but I could be wrong.

You can get a large roll of the self adhesive foam lining from Lowe's or Home Depot for a couple of bucks. It's self-adhesive so you can just peel, cut and stick it right in your case of choice. I think it was a type of weather stripping. It's similar to this, only thicker.

I haven't decided which one I'm going to use but I'm leaning towards the Case Logic. The Case Logic is a better fit for the Nokia, being rectangular and all. It's also a little bit thinner than the Slappa and shorter. The only thing I don't like is that it doesn't have the protective middle flap, but I can either put the Nokia in upside down or find something that will give enough padding between the adapter and the Nokia.

Hope this helps everyone! Good luck!
