I really like this version. It's snappy, and the way it displays pages is so nice for small screens. It's just smart that way. Can someone explain why it can't display the Facebook mobile page the way the stock browser does? It's not bad--I just am curious. I would probably use Opera exclusively if it could use the Swype keyboard. But I can't stand a regular on-screen KB. I miss the hardware KB, but Swype makes it tolerable to be without one.

You probably use a user agent different from the default one set in the stock browser. You may want to try changing it in the options of Opera, just to see whether this is what changed the display of Facebook (which I don't use, can't really help here).

I agree that it would be ideal if we could use the stock keyboard in Opera. I like the Opera keyboard, but it's easier to familiarize with only one keyboard rather than two, so the stock one wins. Swype users have arguments too. I actually do less typos mistakes with the Opera keyboard I think, but practicing the N9 one in other applications may change this in a near future, and I really (REALLY) miss the tactile feedback on the Opera keyboard. Any way to add this feature?

We're currently trying to figure out how to get "classic" Qt widgets like QTextEdit (i.e. no MeeGo Touch or QML) to play nice with the native keyboard, but it'll probably take a while.
ohrn, don't cut it out. Just set the default option to disable and so someone can use it if they like. It actually is not that bad (if you know how to get around bugs).

Hey, I'm really glad Opera came through and surprised me with O12. A round of applause for ohrn and the devs!

I tried the default, the iOS and the Android user agents, and Facebook mobile site looked the same on all. It looks completely different than on the built in browser.

It takes no time at all to master using the N9's native VKB with the new Opera browser. I love it. Heck, I've already added Opera as my default browser and its speed and text reflow make my heavy browser use all the more pleasant. Now, we have to send the Opera folks something good to see if they can hook up our native keyboard in portrait orientation! Puh-leeeeze!

I'm looking for privacy-enhancing and ad-blocking methods. On the desktop there's the Ghostery extension which works fine in Opera. But when you try to download the extension on O12 mobile, it just does that: download and save, but no installing. Are extensions simply not supported?

Content blocking however IS supported. I've used one of the list of http://www.fanboy.co.nz/adblock/opera/. To try it, simply store the file in ~/.config/operamobile-labs/urlfilter.ini.

This works great, but makes Opera start up rather slow The list is very comprehensive and tries to minimize false positives and negatives, which is probably the culprit. Are there more compact lists available? I'm more interested in blocking the worst privacy risks like facebook and google while maintaining speed, than occasionally encounter an add or inadvertently blocked page...
