Yes, I changed the filename and I also changed the .chroot file

I extracted the file in my PC and I didn't know it mattered, later I found out it was necessary and modified the .chroot instead of adding the extension...

I have
IMGFILE=/home/user/MyDocs/debian-m5-v3b.img
IMGFS=ext2

And if I didn't say it before, it's just great the work you are doing! Having a full debian in the phone is priceless!! :-)

it can take quite a while to extract the image, up to 2 or 3 hours (worst case). just be patient, it'll finish.

you should notice a high CPU load during extraction, that's a good indicator that it's still working.

Yes, Inkscape is there, and it works, but it isn't as responsive as Gimp.

I found out, that my desktop breaks when I do the
dpkg-reconfigure locales
once I do it, the LXDE stops working, anyway it's not a big issue

About Inkscape, the biggest issue is that the window does not fit in the desktop, I can't see some icons and the color palette. The Ctr+"." doesn't work for me, I suppose due to the spanish keyboard, so It's difficult to do some things

And one question... would it break easy debian to upgrade it to unstable repositories??

Edit: OK, the Ctr+. thing was pretty easy... I have to press the "ñ" key because there it's where the US keyboard has the dot...

I've installed open office on the N900 and have had some success with it, especially when taking advantage of the excellent advice in this forum, but I have now hit a wall trying to get the equation editor to work. My guess is that that the equation editor is not properly
installed or I need to somehow turn this option on.

Appreciate the help!

With some languages there is a problem with the script /usr/bin/xephwm5 as hstende found out:
http://talk.maemo.org/showthread.php...456#post539456
So you would need to edit this script in the Debian image.

qole I have been having trouble with Easy Debian it seems to be problems uncompressing the file. I gave up a few weeks ago but even after a reflash this week it still doesn't work right now its just telling me unknown lzma error.
