is it only me but since the last update the camera app can't autofocus(half press camera key)? If I press the focus change button (g) then I can autofocus but when I restart the camera I cant autofocus again... Any help on this, cuz its very irritating?

Bumping...
Using CSSU-Testing-latest, and no problems with autofocus or whatever. No tweaking-camera applications (like blessn900 or f-cam) installed.
Best wishes.

Changing ipp element in gdigicam.conf to "dspipp" will produce A LOT better images but with one issue: 1 of every 4-5 images will cause the camera app to crash or will be corrupted (saved as 0 kbytes) and that is very sad if you have to capture on the moment and exactly that photo gets corrupted. Can somebody(including me) trace that issue and how? dmesg doen't show any output about it...

I tried this with 1.3MP resolution as well as 3.5MP widescreen resolution and took 13 pictures each in a row without any problem. CSSU-Thumb, v51 kernel, saving pictures on phone memory. Appart from that dspipp change unaltered config.
Just to make sure we are talking about the same thing, I edited the /etc/gdigicam/gdigicam-camerabin.conf file.

Hope this is of help.

Cheers

Yes, thats the file..

but did you turn on those settings? useconfigfile=true ?

If yes, did you reboot the phone after changing the file?

And if that's yes, did you see difference between no ipp and dspipp?

Please anyone test it out too, is it only me with the crashing?

My setup is KP52, Thumb and nothing installed that would change the camera - fcam, drivers, apps....

To be fair I didn't turn on those settings and didnt restart but just tried this now and still can't seem to run into any sort of problem. Although I have to admit, that it happened to me a few times (in the past couple of months) that the camera application crashed without saving a picture, but about 3 times or so total.

Yes, I think I can see a difference between ipp and dspipp.

Either way, here is my config just so we make sure there are no differences in the conf file to exclude that it's just a parameter problem at your side:

Code:
[global]
# Set this to true to use the config from the file, and to false to
# use the values provided from the application.
useconfigfile=true

# Values specified are the values set by default by the application.
[videosrc]
element=v4l2camsrc

[imageenc]
element=dspjpegenc
#quality=95

[videoenc]
element=dspmp4venc
#element=omx_mpeg4enc

[videomux]
element=hantromp4mux

[audiosrc]
element=pulsesrc

[audioenc]
element=nokiaaacenc
bitrate=128000
width=16
depth=16
rate=48000
channels=1

[imagepp]
element=dspipp

[vfsink]
element=xvimagesink
colorkey=16
