Yeah, I can see that the px-100-IIi is an iPhone-compatible set of headphones. The iPhone standard is incompatible with the one used by the N900.

This is likely to be the issue.
It's a shame that there is a standard pinout for manufacturers to follow and yet hardly anybody uses it. If your headphones don't work blame Apple.

I wanted to connect some headphones to my N900. But all I got was humming. Sennheiser px-100-IIi. Is it possible to handle such headphones on N900.
