I'm trying to set up a new SDK environment so I can write a few tiny tweaks to some of the CSSU code. I last set up a development environment many years ago and it does seem like things have moved on a lot since the documentation was written. I had all kinds of problems to do with fakeroot and I still haven't got all the packages installed.

Right now I think it's just about working, but when I try to compile from source it complains that the CSSU packages are out of date. I guess I need to add an APT repository which has the CSSU packages? Where would that be?

In general, does anyone have up-to-date tips on getting the SDK installed now that various repositories have disappeared? I'm using Ubuntu 14.04 running in a VirtualBox, which probably isn't helping my cause either.

Just load the .iso on something like Virtualbox inside win/mac/lin system and it will boot in a window on your system, or live boot from a flash drive. Way easier than trying to assemble the dusty and badly archived old Nokia tools yourself.
It even has several levels of training tutorials.

I guess you use ScratchBox 1, so here is my sources.list
Code:
deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/sdk free non-free
deb-src http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/sdk free

deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/tools free non-free
deb-src http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/tools free

deb http://repository.maemo.org/ fremantle/******************************** nokia-binaries

deb-src http://repository.maemo.org/community-testing/ fremantle free
deb http://repository.maemo.org/community-testing/ fremantle free non-free
The last two lines are for cssu-testing

My PC OS is Ubuntu 14.04(64 bit) as well, no problems, all that is needed is on wiki(stuff like VDSO and vm.mmap_min_addr).

Ha! No I didn't know about that. What a great idea, I'm so glad that got done.

Only trouble is, I'm in China and can only see Google Drive through a rickety VPN :-( I'll figure out a way to get my hands on an ISO though...
