So I just tried to buy an N900 from amazon and they won't ship to canada. What's up with that?

In any event, does anybody know how I can get a preorder on an N900 and ship to canada? This seems kinda ridiculous.

That thread doesn't help. I tried to buy from buy.com, and I even have a US address to ship to, but my billing address is Canadian, so no go. We need a solution. Canadians Unite! Let's brainstorm and figure out how we can get this damn thing?

Yup. After finding no useful information I had resigned myself to waiting until say, christmas.

There's got to be a way of getting an N900 or two north of the border without paying hundreds in fees and taxes.

I find it hard to believe that Nokia hasn't got any retailers in Canada who have the N900?

I had no problems bringing mine in 10 days ago

Seriously - there may some hope with windmobile.ca launching late this year. Hopefully they will have it in their lineup. With the AWS frequency that they are operating on being compatible with the N900, they would be wise to offer it when they launch.

There's no way I'm buying mine from a carrier. Period. They'll offer it at like, $950 unlocked.

Sorry, I got aroused, and subsequently off-topic.

Can we talk to someone about getting pre-orders available in Canada, I know there is atleast 20 Canadians who will preorder... *sigh.

I do not think there is any hope in buying one legitimately in Canada unless one of the carriers supports the frequency for HSPA that the N900 uses. Until that time....
