Help I changed the Theme in KDE and now the windows size and actually the desktop size has changed. How do I change back?

Sorry when I say changed size I mean the window is bigger than the screen and I can't see some of the OK, CANCEL buttons, etc.

Download

http://penguinbait.com/theme.tgz

place file on SD card (external mmc1) (Internal mmc2)

open xterm

cd /
tar zxf /media/mmc1/theme.tgz

Then open control center

select penguinbait theme

This should fix it

I sat up late last night trying to find a solution and getting totally p!55ed off, so ended up uninstalling KDE.

Will give it a try tonight when I finish work.

Thanks mate.

If I do get the windows problem fixed I will really enjoy KDE, its an added bonus on my n800 os2008 which I'm using more and more every day. I couldn't believe how many additional applications it opens up and the big plus for me is KOffice. Only thing is I may need to buy another SD card, got a 4GB internal card in there at the moment, but was wanting to ditch my aged iPod mini and use the n800 instead. Play.com here I come (4GB £12.99, 8GB £30.99).

I don't believe that your window problem has anything to do with you changing the theme... Some windows in KDE are just too big for the Nokia screen. You can move the windows though by the following:

1) Most windows can be moved by using the Windows Pager in the System Tray - this will be a squarish shaped object in bar at the bottom of the screen that is a miniature representation of your active desktop.

2)At the top left corner of every Title Bar there is an icon - tap it and select move. Then use the stylus to move the window. Don't lift the stylus up until the window is where you want it (ie: so you can press OK or Cancel)

3) This is my personal method & I know it will work on ALL windows (including Dialog/secondary windows)... Assign a button to act as the Move Window command - then press this button and use stylus to move window around. You map a button by using Control Center -> Regional & Accessiblity->Keyboard shortcuts -> Scroll down list to Move Window and select it -> Tap Custom button -> Press your desired key or combination of keys (enable in Advanced).

If you enable Sticky Keys while you're there in R & A then you can press the button you've assigned, followed by using the stylus to move the window. If you don't enable Sticky Keys then you'll have to press the button and hold the button while using the stylus to move the window.

I know this works on my N810 - I use it multiple times a day. Someone else was having trouble getting it to work on the N800, if you have problems too perhaps try a different button assignment. I see no reason why it should work on both devices - the only real advantage of the N810 is so many possible keyboard shortcuts because of the builtin keyboard. I've got shortcuts for a lot of commands.

I have had other people do the same thing PCQ, if you change the theme it changes many different things including fonts and window styles, which makes even more windows not fit on the screen.

Even more buttons you can not get to, I tried to come up with a combination of settings that is most readable and most window friendly.

I did not however save my settings as a theme, so if you do not save your theme prior to changing it, you can not get back to exactly where I left you

Anyway, PCQ, did you see my settings recommendations thread? I am hoping to hear from you in there
