VLC remote is avaible in extra-devel.
With this software, you will be able to control your VLC desktop application from your phone.
How to configure VLC as a server ?
1- Allow connection by IP :
echo 192.168.1.104 >> /etc/vlc/http/.hosts
2- Start vlc as http server
vlc --extraintf http
OR
Start VLC -> Tool -> Preference -> (Parameter : All) -> Interface -> Main interferace -> And check Http
TODO for the next release :
- PlayList
- File browser
- IP Account manager

nice. thank you. it would be nice to make it multiplayers control. i mean to add support for mplayer, (don't think a lot of people use it but xmms2), totem, mpd in e.g.
