I've been struggling to clear up my confused mind about chinook and diablo. Are they the names for the different version of maemo SDK? I'm using the latest software, I hope so coz when I connect to PC for software update it says so, but I don't remember installing maemo SDK. So, is it installed by default? and if so am I on diablo? Thanks.

Diablo is the release name of the latest software (Chinook is the name of the previous release). There is also a Diablo SDK, but if you have Diablo it doesn' mean you have also the SDK.

Edit:
When I said "latest" means now is the latest, in the future other will come... :-)

So, I'm using the software version 4.2008.23-14, that means I'm using diablo, right? and what version of maemo SDK is called diablo? is it maemo 4.1? Also in my application manager, inside installable application, I get maemo-sdk-tablet with version 0.1.9, what is it? Thanks.

Yes, 4.1. Maemo-sdk-tablet is different beer.

In brief, it's faster, the web browser works more smoothly, and it automatically updates itself and your third-party applications (that is, it notifies you of updates and makes it very simple to install the updates).
