Google-LG Nexus 5 smartphone, which is expected to be unveiled before the end of this month, has now appeared in a document which appears to be an internal Service Manual for the Nexus 5. The service manual, published by Android Police, not only includes technical specifications of the phone, but it also has flow charts, diagrams, line drawings and disassembly photos which clearly hint that the phone in the manual is the next-gen Nexus device.

The 281-page draft of the leaked service manual (embedded below) has revealed the full specifications of the Nexus 5. If the manual is to be believed, the Nexus 5 smartphone will have a 4.95-inch 1080p display, 8MP rear camera, 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor, 2GB RAM, and will come in two capacities - 16GB and 32GB.

Other features include a Micro SIM slot, Notification light, Wireless charging, and NFC.

Nexus 5: A rundown of what the manual reveals -
4.95-inch 1080p display - 8MP OIS rear camera,
1.3MP front camera -
16GB/32GB internal storage - 2GB RAM -
2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor - 2300mAh battery -
Sensors: Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, Proximity/Ambient Light, Pressure -
HDMI out via Slimport -
Micro SIM slot -
Notification light -
Wireless charging -

The irony is that they still have a server up and running - else we wouldn't be getting a working "We're shut down k thnx" page. Going through the extra effort to set up a redirect and thus prevent access to all presently available, static content, presumably actually costs more money than just leaving it as it. (Yeah, maybe they have multiple web servers and whatever and maybe they've just slapped a lighttpd or nginx on what used to point to the outside world and run an HAProxy instance [insert other comparable software as your leisure, I'm just coming up with an example], and maybe that saves them a small amount of operating costs, but I find it unlikely that the set up they have at the moment would be substantially cheaper than just leaving their site as is.)

I sort of expected these specs, but was hoping it was going to be a Samsung model purely for the possibility of a custom built 64-bit (ARM Cortex A57) processor...so that Android receives the much worked on version 5.0 that comes with a lot of changes under the hood (performance wise).

Good end of non-64-bit ARM CPU specs, sets the case for the Nexus 6 to be what we'd love to see.

This might be my next phone. My BB10 is acting up a bit and that company, like Nokia is toast for the most part.

I can't for the life of me understand why the design is so hard for all of the Android manufacturers. There's tons of Android phones out there. Yet they all look such a uninspiring cheapo devices.

Other than that Nexus 5 looks to be solid device on hardware side. Combine that with the likely cheap price and it being Nexus and you have a winner.

Yeah, it seems like Nexus 5 is here to commemorate Android 4.4 Kit Kat.
That means the current Cortex A15-spec chips are enough, with the QSD 800 sitting at the top.

(Tegra 4 sucks because its very developer unfriendly).

I'm guessing they'll be giving some away for free, and make a huge announcement on 31 October, coinciding with Halloween.

Anyways for now, I'm gonna start the Nexus 6 rumours
5.85 inch screen
Bezelless technology*
150 x 80 x 9 mm dimensions
1080p Resolution
2GHz Dual-Cortex A57 chip
1GHz Dual-Cortex A53 LITTLE.big computing
4GB RAM, 32GB NAND
13MP Camera, all the usual gadgetry
Android 5.0 Lemon Drops
....let's see how far this rumour goes
