What do you think about this idea?
It would be nice to show (read-only-)widgets on the swipe to unlock screen.
At least some widgets could be useful, and maybe the clock that is on the screen can then become a widget, and you can move it where you like.

Is it worth a feature request?

Good idea. Specifically something like a number of missed calls/emails/sms etc widgets.

Maybe a feature to allow the current lock screen to show up without having to press the power button would do just as well.

Push the power button and you get something like that.... It allows you to "swipe to unlock" the screen.

Plus I want a number of different unlock-swipes for direct actions, e.g. 5 speed dial positions.
And media player swipes (pause/next).

Gunni is talking about adding widgets to that screen.

Why should we have widgets on the "swipe to unlock" screen?

We have already
- widgets on the normal desktop and
- a program to make a hardcopy of the normal desktop and
- a program to assign an action to the PowerOn-Button

So why shouldn't we merge all these possibilities?
In this way?!:
1.) create a (1of 4) desktop with all the informations/widgets you need
2.) assign the hardcopy to the PowerOn-button
3.) pressing this button (in the locked mode) will create a hardcopy of the normal desktop as a jpg/bmp/png file with the name of the "swipe to unlock" screen in the right folder
4.) maemo will automatically show the new bitmap as the background
containing all static informations created only a second before

What's to do?
Maybe one great programmer can create a service/small program to initialise the hardcopy (of the not visible desktop) after pressing the power button and before maemo shows the "swipe to unlock" screen ...

Am I totally wrong ???
