Has anyone consider making one? for N900 or any maemo devices? ..
like Iphones T-Pain one, i think this would be a great acquisition for us , since, it's fun and could be usefull if your into music or something, or maybe "just because i can" type of thing, is any of you developers willing to do an autotune application? or maybe just an upgrade to the simply yet usefull recording app that we already have? :P

umm, i know, but, uhh, what i'm kinda looking forward to is, an application where you record your voice, and then it plays it back autotuned (get's you voice to the note your intending to sing) or something like that, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NkBHMl8zI0&feature=fvst check that link so you get an idea

A very good description of AutoTune and its background and the meme that grew around it is here: Know Your Meme: "Weird Al" Yankovic Helps Explain Auto Tune (from Rocketboom)

Yes, it would be a useless, but funny app to show off on the N900

"...Do you believe in life after love....."

I was requesting an app exactly like this in the thread below. Granted it was for the N8x0 series, but no one seemed interested to make. I posted links to similar sound recording apps for other platforms. N8x0 has an open source sound recorder that you may use for its foundation (although every sound recording I have made for it will not play back on anything but maemo I think an app like this will really be fun to play with and, if email-able, bring smiles to many peoples faces.

There is a free ladspa clone for Auto Tune called Auto talent. I have already compiled the ladspa effect in scratchbox for arm. The only thing missing is some type of program to use the plugin. Pulse audio does have a plugin for loading ladspa effects but the big problem with this is that it does not allow real-time manipulation of the settings for any ladspa plugin.

The attached file contains the source for auto-talent and a built library
Attached Files
File Type: zip autotalent-0.2.zip (67.9 KB, 180 views)
