i bought an n900 thinking in sony vaio ux 280p
an computer in a pocket size with touch screen.
and really i do enjoyed the experience with n900.
unhapilly i had to sell my phone some months ago.

i never touched in a android smartphone except for 5 minutes because the person that bought my n900 wanted it with dual boot.

i have 150USD to expend on a smartphone
when i bought my n900 i bought for 200-220USD,i think it was last year.
i knew i was buying outdated hardware but it fited my needs.

i asked in many forums but nobody used a n900 to know what i am talking about,how it is feel in our hands a hacker phone an all in one swiss knife eletronic

all they know is about facebook and whatsapp
but to me these things are superficial/basic and boring,i want control , i want explore my device until the last megahertz, the last byte.

my doubts and needs,
with android 4 ICS or superior will i be able to:
#use my ps3 controller and control my emulators like in n900?
#record internal sounds and voice calls like in n900?
#do bluetooth tethering,hotspot wifi and use as modem like in n900?
#inside easy debian it has a "movie maker" similar program to make simple video editing,in android will i have this program?
#mount .iso images open zip,rar and infinity of extensions and compile programs like in n900?

very nice functions but due to budget they become dispensable/luxury:

what do i need to know about android vs maemo?
i've heard that android consumes much resources because it is programed in java and maemo in c/c++
and with 512 of ram the phone with ICS is slow,with 256 ram is unusable
is that true?

i want a phone customizable, so what is the best deal/choose for me?

i´ve using MIUI and it is (for me) the only usable Androidsystem.
try to get a chinaphone that works with MIUI.

searching ,over and over again i founded a great deal
one mb860 or best know as motorola atrix.
it is upgradeable to ics,it has 1gb of ram a dual core by nvidia,the tegra 2
hdmi out,usb otg and it has the ability of transform itself on laptop if the owner has a dock.
is the unlocked version
i bought for only 70USD including shipping
i wanted photon q 4g ,i am in brazil but in ebay i can only find locked versions to american carriers,the unlocked version cost an arm and a leg
and at least if i dont like the atrix i can re-sell it for USD200-250 in brazil
in my country taxes are very high and i will get one atrix without taxes so liking or not liking the phone i will have profit

can someone explain the tricks and tips behinde android?
cause as i said i never had a strong contact with android,only five or ten minutes isnt experience enough to judge well the operating system.

will i have all the apps and functionalities that i used to have and play in n900 maemo 5?

for an american standard am i paying that much on a 2/3 old year phone?

i found a good option : motorola atrix hd (mb886)

the cons are non removable battery and lack of fm radio but they are too insignificant compared to the whole phone that i can live with this phone without these features.nothing is perfect
