What software modifications could be made to it?

I dont think that anybody hacked it to use any boot modifications although it has big enough internal storage 8GB, so it is Symbian S80 3rd phone.

Thank you! What's so special about these models?

What are the other models?

Ok..it is not easy say what is best, because if you want Camera Lens Cover it is only in original model.

I doubt you can make any modifications in its software. I had an N70 once and the only modification, I was able to do was to change its software from simple to N70 music edition one.

I would have to say original N95 as its case has stood the test of time whereas N95 8GB has gone all sticky as Nokia black plastic of this era has done as pictured below. On both these S60 3rd Ed. devices you needed to bypass platform security to utilise their full potential. Unfortunately security certificates are long expired so browsing which was always a miserable experience is probably limited to Opera Mini.

Best feature for me were the transflective screens allowing use of mapping software in bright sunlight. Upon N95 it was very easy to solder a longer GPS antenna to motherboard which enabled extremely rapid GPS acquisition.
