I get SMS message to phone, but touch screen stops working and I know that message has valuable information from people that I have contact information only in that phone.

Any hints to read that message?

So far:
I restart device to see if touch screen come back...bad mistake..I have to take SIM out for start, because skip SIM code asking (you cannot write code with keyboard!)

I tried to connect to PC with Nokia PC Suite 7 and tried read it with that, but know luck..it doesn't show any messages from N900. Is that wrong version for N900?

Then I tried to back up that N900 with Nokia PC Suite 7 and yes it backups messages, but not let put messages to another N900. Should that PC Suite 7 support N900?

I found info how to write SMS from terminal, but can I read from terminal?

Luckily I have installed working setup for USB-mouse (not Bluetooth-mouse), but can I setup USB H-E-N from terminal to activate it? Or can I start use bluetoot mouse without need to touch touch screen (I ask this because I have to go and buy it if needed).

Is there any way to activate cursors keys for mouse (like in AtariST)?

Lot of questions, but any hints are now welcome.

Can you still see the screen, and interact via keyboard?

Then I don't see the problem.

Just search around TMO for how to read or export sms via terminal, and/or see here: https://wiki.maemo.org/Terminal

In short, yes. The last verson of Nokia PC Suite that worked well with the N900 was 3.8.x.

.
So an ssh access from your PC is set up and working?

Your SMS are stored in the N900 into
Code:
/home/user/.rtcom-eventlogger/el-v1.db
Copy that db file on your PC and go marraud a bit inside with a sqlite3 GUP program. I don't know under Windows but under Linux exists sqlitebrowser.
Go to the "Events" table and look into the free_text field.
Here are all your mesages.
In the remote_uid will you find all the phone numbers.

I could read it easily with Nano. I Just go to end of file and that SMS was in 3th last line with phone number.

I just like more and more Maemo...You can image if I had iOS or Android phone with broken touch.

Mouse and KB should work with a microUSB adapter.

FWIW we had a very simlar convo about searching SMS on SailfishOS here recently - there are apps that do it for both OSs. The one I installed is called SearchNemo. It's essentially a sqlite3 frontend.

I take little time and make testings with Suites with N900 and I made separate thread about that:
