The down arrolw key detached from the keyboard on my N900 a while back (the keycap is now lost unfortunately) and the left arrow key just came off. (I managed to retain that one). Both keys still work if I press the spot where the keys were.

Is this an issue that is known about or has been seen before?

Is there anything I can do about this (reattaching the left arrow, somehow doing something about the down arrow or preventing further caps from detaching)?

Obviously replacing the whole keyboard is an option but I dont know where to get one, how much it would cost or where to find someone with the tools and skills to do the replaqcement...

Its getting closer to the point where issues (including this keyboard damage, especially if more keys come off) mean I may have to give up my beloved N900 and swiotch to (ugh) somthing without the magic of a physical keyboard, probably Android (I would buy another N900 but with 4G and now 5G and with 3G not being an option forever its just not justifiable to spend what a working decent quality N900 would cost me)

Sucks, but its super easy to replace the keyboard if you can get a mother on. You just need a Tory 5 and a small Philips screw driver.

Not sure where you are in the world.

you can try eBay, https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...c&LH_PrefLoc=2

If you live in Europe near Germany, then you may be able to convince the neo900 guy to sell you some parts. https://neo900.org/contact

good luck!

Is this an option? Does this guy actually have a bunch of unused spare parts?
Has someone tried this (succesfully)?
Please report!

Why a new thread?

You can easily glue the keys back with superglue or epoxy, as mentioned in the first thread.
