Emboldened by discovery of qUnlock application to both "network unlock" and change to "bootloader unlock = Yes" utilising Sony server as here for a fee ~ €23 previously on Xperia X locked to O2 UK: https://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?...1&postcount=11
I decided to purchase used XZ3 H8416 sim locked to Vodafone. As it has glass back like OPX it is ideal for wiping down with alcohol wipes during Covid19.
Using qUnlock was the easy bit so now had sim unlocked XZ3 with ability to unlock bootloader. Bootloader unlock was uneventful upon Mac although get no job confirmation within Terminal, which just hangs after completion of task. First major issue that whilst have always been able to use Mac previously to flash Sailfish OS got the dreaded "Found 0 devices: Incorrect number of devices connected. Make sure
there is exactly one device connected in fastboot mode." as here: https://jolla.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/a...s/360012031854
This entailed finding a Windows 8.1 machine and sourcing vbmeta.img from Alpha software which has to be separately flashed in a new cmd window before booting into Sailfish: https://github.com/sailfishos-sony-t...er/flashing.md
Whilst I would like larger icons, Patchmanager 3 by Coderus requires 3.3.0.20 whilst port currently running 3.3.0.16
