I am having so much fun with my 770 and, with the price of N800 dropping to 230$, its natural that I would like to get the 770's big brother, the N800. I HAVE NOT done my research yet, I spotted somebody switched from 770 to N800 and now switch back to 770. Can someone has on hand experience of both models post your comment regarding the difference, the pros and the cons? I am more geared towards a consumer's point, i.e., what is the difference in actual use. BTW, any comments are welcome.

I saw a pic of the N800, the camera sticks out, looked like a humpback ; is that removable or it is permanent?

I am thinking to place an order this weekend............... a N800 internet tablet

The camera pushes in and out (as seen in your photo I imagine).

To me, the n800 feels faster (it does have a faster processor) and is able to open more web pages without choking (it has twice the memory).

If it's a good deal I say go for it, otherwise wait for the new one...

Well if 770 is enough for you speed-wise the form factor may be the reason to stick with it. 770 has hardcover and is a bit thinner and has no bulge on the back. Also the USB connector is on the bottom and not hidden behind the stand and USB host mode works right now. Also the touchscreen is not buggy so it is easier to drag and right click with 770, N800 touchscreen output is erratic (design issue) and thus heavily filtered in kernel but still you get random pen up and movement events. OTOH N800 is definitely faster, extra RAM helps too and the display looks better. Also if you boot from MMC you have internal slot for that and still can swap the external card.

I have both devices and still use 770 quite a lot since it is good enough for many things. Due to missing cover I'm using N800 only at home and take 770 with me when going out.

I still maintain that this position is nuts and can't imagine what kind of things these people are doing to their mobile devices. :P

I have 2 770s and an N800. I love them all, but the N800 is a big step up in all areas. A very worthwhile upgrade.

I read books on 770 but for the rest I use n800. 770 form factor is better, it's smaller and lighter. Touch screen is better. But screen quality, os support, processor speed, stuff like that are far superior in n800. Also, headphone jack location is much better in n800. Small, but really useful thing. The stand is also really nice touch.

I switched from a 770 to N800 back to 770, honestly...I don't think many people realize it's a device that fits in your hand, I personally don't expect it to have blazing speed, to tell you the truth, I thought the n800 was slower...then again, this is my personal opinion.

I just like the 770 better. I don't need a camera, FM radio, etc. I never seemed to have the same issues that most people had with the 770. Then again, I don't run apache...and all that other crazy ****. I used it for what it is.

Kinda hard to explain I guess, cause I still don't think I'm getting the point across, I still use my 770 for xterm stuff like that...but I don't know, the 800 wasn't my cup of tea, I thought it was going to be a MAJOR upgrade, but it really wasn't.

Really thank you for all your kind comments, I think I tilt towards N800, just because I have not seen one. I will do my OWN research and post what I am going to order. BTW, I am a married man, so, annual budgets has been made by the CEO of my family 10 months ago, my wife, so,.....asking for a small number 770 is usually easier than a bigger number. Well, that is my own problem

Don't get me wrong, I don't want anyone to think I'm saying that it's a bad device, it's still a really awesome device to have, I don't want to take that away from it, but, although I never thought I'd ever say this about any electronic device...it's too much for what I need. With 2007HE on 770, I like the 770 even more, although I'm still trying to find the benefit of running 2007he Vs. 2006...but that's another issue.

I bought my 770 about 2 -3 weeks ago for $133. At the time 800's were going for $340 so it was a fairly large jump for the extra processing and double the memory. The extra memory card slot that accepts SD is also a very nice feature of the 800. It would be a no brainer to upgrade if it had the hard cover like the 770. It is very nice being able to put your 770 in your front pocket and not worry about it. I could use some more processing power but I probably will wait though to see what happens with wimax.
