From all the hype about the new N810 I was wondering if the new OS 2008

is available for download?

I've been trying to get an answer to that myself. It WILL be available for the N800, but no one will say when.

Texrat said the n810 will be out mid November. So i very much doubt that we'll see an update for the N800 before that...

The announce on maemo says that the new os will be available for download when the n810 starts selling.

The Nokia N810 will be in the shops on mid November. As soon as sales start, N800 users will be able to upgrade to the OS2008 as well.

I like that both will use the same OS.
Both devices run exactly the same operating system: packages tested and working in a Nokia N800 with OS 2008 should work just as well in a N810.

This is great news. Having just taken advantage of the n800 price drop, I was a bit worried about being left behind.

Very interested to see a breakdown of improvements/differences between 2007 and 2008.
