I recently purchased an N800. I am looking to add a memory card or two and, frankly, I am confused.

In doing my research on this issue, there seems to be a lot of confusion about which type of SD card will work best in the N800.

At present, my plan is to replace the stock internal SD card with a SanDisk "Ultra II" 2.0 GB SD card I got on sale. I also would like to add an additional SD card (4 or 8 GB) in the near future for the external card slot.

My questions are as follows:

- Will the SanDisk Ultra II card work as an internal memory card?
- Will the N800 work well with a "High Speed" SD Card?
- Will the N800 work well with a SDHC 4 or 8GB memory card?
-As the N800 is currently configured, can you use a SD, SD High Speed, SDHC and/or the SanDisk Ultra/Extreme family of SD Cards IN COMBINATION?

Some of these cards are on the pricey side and I am trying not to wipe out my budget. (I am seriously considering the Nokia Navigation Kit as my Christmas present)

Thank you for your assistance in clearing up my confusion.

Things like "ultra" etc are just marketing hype, they really just mean high speed.

Yes, you can use high speed cards on the N800.

Yes, you can use SDHC (SD High Capacity) cards up to 8 gigabytes.

Yes, you can use any combination of compatible cards, it doesn't matter which card is in which slot.

I've done an in-depth tutorial about this topic with a list of all the cards and card sizes the N800 can use, and tips on where to buy them and which brands to buy:

16GB has been reported to work too.. (as should 32GB when that becomes avaiable. There's no inherent limit in the OS, at least not one reached anytime soon)

16GB has been reported to work, but isn't officially supported.

In fact like TA-t3 says you can almost always go way over the official card limit on most devices, but the "limit" is the maximum amount with which the manufacturer officially guarantees it to work.
