Hi

I’m doing an interactive museum guide for work. We will be using Flash to deliver sound and pictures (but not video). I would like to know if the Opera browser for 770 will be able to handle large flash files (6-10 MB) with sound and images?

I have heard a lot of good things about the browser for the 770, but I need to have some idea whether that the hardware and Opera will be able to handle large flash files before I go out buy it.

This thread:

about flash games seem to indicate that it would not be possible.

Also, there is no standalone flash player for Nokia 770? -> It would be nice to do the museum guide in full screen…

The UK lottery website uses Flash for their instant games. I don't know what size they are but certainly less than 6-10MB. They are slow on the 770 (compared to PC) naturally, but usable. But that might also be a problem for your solution.

So the games run slowly or they take a long time to load? I might be able to reduce the size of the flash movies to 5-8 MB, but that's still big for such a small device

I posted a way to run flash files here:
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...read.php?t=363

There are some issues though - some of which may be solved by now (one example I may not have mentioned in the thread, is that you can't get it to run in full screen properly - once the flash file has finished loading in the browser the address bar disappears but the area in which the flash plays does not expand to fill where the address bar was...

If you send me one of the files in question I'd be happy to try it out fpr you and report back how it looked and how well it runs at various quality settings.

As an initial test you might want to try it in Flash 6, as that's what's on the 770 - it's always possible it may not run at all.. :\
