I just completed a beta version of a web-based utility that will allow Maemo-Mapper users to upload track files and have the lat/lon track plotted as well as have the elevation plotted in meters and feet. The link is
http://www.datasink.com/xmltrack.html

You will be able to upload a track file (which is in xml format) and enter a brief title for the track and have two plots rendered to the web screen. You also will get a bar-delimited dump of each track point (date|time|lat|lon|meters|feet. You might need to use this later for other data manipulations you might need.

If you don't have a track file handy, I provide a link to a sample file that I have saved.
I have not tried to access this utility from my n800 but I think it should work.

Please feel free to comment and make suggestions for feature creep.

This is something that may be very useful to me. However, how do you use it after browsing for the file and entering a name? There is no button to press or anyway that I can see to make it execute. I am trying to use it with IE if that matters.

Thanks

There is a button for plotting the track when I use my PC with Firefox. However, when I go to the web site and use the Opera browser (I don't like the Micro-B Beta...a whole different thread) the button does not show up there.

Fred

P.S. I will upload a track to my PC and see how it works with on there.

P.P.S. (edited in): Very cool. It needs to work on the N800 though so you can see what you've done while out and about. I bet the change is straightforward.
