Is there any way to play smil-files without using the rhapsody player ?

I don't want to pay $13 per month and my install via tableteer failed anyway. It said the files "rhapsody player" and "rhapsody applet" are missing.

KMPlayer [info] should work fine [I have used it for certain SMIL files]
...
Play smil files with some restrictions(*), see tests/ directory in source package for some example SMIL file
(*) obviously mouse in/out-bounds events don't work
...
You will need to install MPlayer and the enhanced GUI front end KMPlayer.

Hi !

For a full SMIL-compliant player, you may want to check the Ambulant Player:

http://www.cwi.nl/projects/Ambulant/distPlayer.html

(go to "Download" -> "N770/N800")

In fact, KMPlayer links to demos from the CWI/Oratrix website

KMPlayer won't install and Ambulant shows an error (undefined layer in smil) in file.

Too bad :-(

For your guide I have a n800 with OS2007 [version 4.2007.26-8] and KMPlayer installed without a problem.
What did the 'Log' in the Application Manager give you as a reason for not being able to install it, johenkel?
