After i sold my 770 I've been dying to get the successor, now that I have N810
nothing useful is available yet.

When do you guys think we'll have skype? VNC? GAIM? maemo ftp?
I really dont want to leave my N810 for a second on a desk, but I needs apps,
to mess around.
I need them quick...

For Gaim, you can use Pidgin. Or better you can use the defaul chat client. Search for JABLET in the forum, it support many IM types (jabber, msn, yahoo....).

Thanks General!

I've been hard at work on the site the past 2 days, even if it doesn't show...

Go and read that page. It's a Jabber server that works with the built-in Jabber client using Jabber transports to connect to services like AIM, MSN, Yahoo, and ICQ. It eliminates the need for bloaty 3rd party clients.

There isn't download. That's the great thing about Jablet - it uses your Tablet's built-in IM client. Works great, I'd highly recommend it.

As for apps, you can check in the wiki for the apps that are known to work. Here's the direct link:

I'll add my recommendations for jablet.net. Very very cool and nice that I can use the built in client rather than another app for all my IM services. Thanks to zerojay and texrat!

Also, by adding the proper repositories to your Application Manager, you can find quite a few apps already compiled for OS2008. Try going to http://www.gronmayer.com/it/ and adding the repositories there (see THIS THREAD for more details).

Wow! That's such a terrific resource. I'm surprised that I'm only NOW learning about Jablet.net.

The more that I think about it, the more that the InternetTabletTalk wiki would be a GREAT resource for unknowing individuals. I really hope forum members start recording their expertise. A link from wikipedia could really open up the IT to the masses and let people know of the wonderful things that can be done with the Nokia N-Series Internet Tablet.

}:^)~
YARR!
