I must say that the new OS looks awesome! I gave it a try just to see what we`ll have to look forward to. I switched back to OS2007 after just a day because OS2008 is still in beta and some things just dont work like skype, the browser closes automatically when I surf to maemo.org which i find very weird. I hope that we get all the OS2007 apps ported to the new OS fast because like I said before it looks really hot! PS. After flashing OS2007 back on my n800 i find it to run even faster than before

Humm? I can navigate to maemo.org just fine! Skype calls to the test echo service work fine... but others are reporting that long calls sooner than later just drop.

I go to maemo.org approximately daily, and the 2008 browser doesn't close on me.

Skype, on the other hand, crashes every time I try to make a phone call, though it does make the call and I can hear the recording at the phone I typically call. It does work fine on the test echo service.

Maemo is working here, too! And Skype also crashes everytime.

I feel MicroB slower than Opera, but I think it has nothing to do with the beta state of the OS.

Skype crashes for me to - sadly (or maybe it's just as well) the only person I know using Skype is the Chinese Test lady, for some reason the English one doesn't want to call me. Maybe Skype is still beta, just like the N800 OS2008 operating system, but if I owned a N810 I wouldn't be very impressed - I'd wonder why Skype was even let out the door.

MicroB on the other hand is very good and hasn't crashed on me once, and I use it all the time. It has no problems accessing maemo.org though I tend to steer clear of Maemo Planet simply because with the very long articles that appear there the overall page becomes too complex and causes the browser to struggle somewhat.

I had maemo.org closing on me, but I had restored from a 2007 backup which I think borked the 2008 beta, so I reflashed from scratch and it's been working fairly stable since.

It's a bug. It's commented in others thread. When you restore the backup, the browser config files are for opera and microb crash often.
The easiest way for delete this bug is opening the terminal app and write 'rm .browser' with microb closed. Then try microb again.

I'd find that worrisome, because it would imply that the new OS might do "unflashable" things.

Which is not good...
