Step-by-step instructions are contained within the Flasher app that you run on your PC. It's very straightforward...

Here's more info for all three Internet Tablets:

Try Nokia's software update page for the N810.

EDIT: I'm too slow.

I can't really claim to be a newbie. Been programming for literally 40 years, even some time on the ***** Multics that gave birth to Unix. I've even programmed in several Unix shells. But i'm in deep pucky with my new 810.

I have a G4 Powerbook running Tiger and of course my n810. The 810 came with RX-44_2008SE_1.2007.42-18_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin installed. I'm trying to upgrade to RX-44_2008SE_1.2007.42-19_PR_COMBINED_MR0_ARM.bin.

After searching for 3 evenings, I have yet to find help updating an 810 from a Mac.

I also want to add that those good folks with lots of Unix/Linix experience who are trying to help on these forums are somewhat blinded by their own considerable expertise, and they don't realize that they often omit numerous steps that are not obvious to the rest of us.

Peace

Settle down grandpa!!

Using google search "maemo osx flasher" and some reading for less than one minute you will find some info.

It will eventually lead you to here
http://tablets-dev.nokia.com/d3.php

This does not list the N810, I do not know if it is compatible. I do not have an n810 yet, nor do I have a mac.

Searching the forum here would find you this
http://www.internettablettalk.com/fo...ead.php?t=7335

Might even find a gui version if you do a little reading

I found your question the same. I am not sure what magic pill you are looking for?

I truly think the answers I gave should have been able to help you, I am sorry you felt they did not.

Yeesh, talk about biting the hand that's trying to help.

Just use the 770Flasher there, it'll work fine.
