Hi all,

I'm a new owner of n800... been playing with it the past week and generally happy with my new toy so far.

But (you knew there's trouble in paradise from the topic right? ) I can't seem to get proper volume when listening from the headset. The volume would be super low and coming from only one side (left). If I press the square thingy on the headset -- pardon me for not knowing the proper term for this part being newbie and all -- the volume got teeny tiny bit louder, but that's just it.. very little improvement and I don't think that's how it works.

I tried using the headset with other audio device and it seems to work fine. Using other headset with n800, I got significantly louder sound, but again only in the left side.

Is this a hardware defects or there's a setting that I missed? I'm crossing my fingers that it's not the former; I bought this from buy.com and went through a lot with them before getting my n800 and I hate to think that I might have to deal with them again.

Thank you in advance,
b.

You may be having the same "problem" I had when I first used my N800. The headphone jack is quite tight and despite the fact you think you may have plugged the headphones in completely this may not be the case. It will go in further if you press harder. Try pushing very firmly on the headphone jack when you are putting it in and you will likely find that it will go in all the way and you will have the sound you are expecting.

Hi Scott!

That did it! Thank you so much. It's such an easy solution that I feel incredibly stupid not thinking of it first
