I got my N800 for more a little more than a month and start to hate this piece of sh*t. It got too many bugs. The browser just constantly crashes with the message "internal error, application web closed". When it works, wifi just drops connection too often, so I got to disconnect and reconnect for it to work again and keep doing it till tired and piss on it. Refresh application manager never works. It crashed one of my SD card too. This is a internet tablet and cannot connect to the internet very stably. What is it for then? is the N810 better or just same kind of crap. Anybody got a good recommendation for a portable internet devive that can do the job well?

I'm not actually a tablet fanboy, but it sounds like you're 1 step away from blaming it for global warming, endangering the panda bear, and that ache in your knee you get whenever it rains...

Did you flash the latest version of the OS? Most of the bugs have been worked out in OS2008. I've never heard of a tablet damaging an SD card... sounds like that tablet needs an exorcism.

Anyway. You're probably looking at an OQO or something. There's nothing comparable to the Nokia tablets on the market yet, so a $1200 UMPC is your best bet... til XP crashes.

Sorry to pick on you when there are plenty of other examples, but what is with this tone of complaining to the people on this forum like we made the (770 || N800 || N810) or that we *care* that you hate it or that we exist to guess why you don't like it and fix your problems.
Anyways, have you tried updating the firmware on it, even once? The problem with SDHC cards was fixed months ago. As for the N810, if you'd read even a couple posts here you would know that the N810 is an N800 with a keyboard and GPS. If you install the 2008OS firmware on your N800 you'll end up with almost exactly the same experience as buying an N810.

I haven't seen any thing that crashes too often as my N800. The browser will crash once out of 4 times I open it. Wifi connection always drops doesn't matter whose network I connect to. I may try the oqo 02. $200 price tag is very nice but what scene does it make if it doesn't always work. I am still running latest 2007 OS and like the form factor of the N800 very much.

i have also owned my n800 for just over a month but my experience of it has been nothing like what you are describing! i have never had my browser crash once!

try flashing to the latest version of the operating system. this might solve your issues.

I have an N800 with OS2008 and I love it! Everything that I need works. It's extremely rare that applications crash. You might have a defective unit.

Upgrade your N800 to OS2008. Give that a try. What do you have to lose?

Hmm, you might try reflashing your tablet and then making sure _not_ to restore any backed up settings. My tablet had some similar issues with the browser crashing all the time when I upgraded to OS2008. After I reflashed without importing settings, everything seems to be fine.

Sounds like you've managed to corrupt your settings or somesuch. A reflash without restoring a backup will clear this up.

Sounds like you've got a pretty mediocre router or a defective unit (incredibly unlikely with these symptoms). Have have my N800 connected to at least 3 different routers a day and often times more, and it holds a connection to all of them better than any laptop.

This is more of an issue of the wording of the error message than an actual issue. That is, unless, you've managed to royally screw yours sources.list. Check the log that's located in the Application Manager menu if you actually want help getting this issue solved.

This is impossible if this statement is actually factually accurate:

So either you are screwing up your own SD cards (likely) or you're on an old version of OS2007 without the SDHC patches (unlikely, as the situation which would bring about difficulties with the older firmware is very uncommon).
