When I saw that OS2008 was out of beta, I decided it was time to upgrade. So I backed up my stuff, downloaded the new image and launched the Internet Tablet Software Updater. At first the program tries to download something, but seems to be unable to connect. After that I hook up my tablet and the updater just doesn't find it (I have updated before, so I know how it works). I tried it on my own laptop (Vista and Ubuntu) and PC (Vista). Has someone has this problem before?

Tonight I'm heading to my fathers and I'll try it there as well. I'll keep you posted.

You did press and hold the home button when turning on the N800 right?

Of course, like I said I did it before. But I found a solution. Apperantly you can't just use any USB-cable for this :P I tried the Nokia USB-cable and problem solved!

Thanks anyway.

Well actually you can use any USB cable, as long as it's it good working order. Nothing special about the one supplied.

I do remember using another USB-cable with mini-USB connector once. So it's not necessarily the Nokia cable, although the cable I used was from my external hard-disk which seemed to function correctly. Obviously it doesn't
