Greetings:

Its been 3 days and Python 2.5 runtime does not want to install.

Is it because its not compatible with OS2008?

If someone has installed Python 2.5 can you post a link from where you downloaded it.

Regards Robert

No, its because the files aren't actually on the server right now apparently (or at least its sending an error message .html file instead of the actual .deb files).

No, as you probably guessed, it's needed by a number of apps. After two days, I managed to download it, but these were the first two days after the new firmware was released, so the servers were being hammered.

My suggestion, which is simply one passed on from others here in the forums: Try disabling all your repositories except for the one (forgive, I can't recall which one it is right now) that contains Python. At the very least, it reduces the number amount of time it takes for the app manager to 'load' so when it fails, you can loop thru the download cycle faster.

That seemed to work for me during the recent 'repo madness' which, btw, I thought had subsided...alas

Greetings:

As per your suggestion, I found the repository that had Python 2.5 runtime and only from that repository I tried to install Python 2.5, but still I get a corrupted file message.
Maybe its better to wait a while for the dust to settle.
Hopefully someone will unblock this Python problem.

Hi,

I've had the same problem. The only workaround is to use the temp repositories.

Have you guys tried the solution found here? See post by TechNut for a one click install of the temporary fix repos.

Greetings:

The following suggestion works:

"Thanks to the keen eye of AdmJo - It appears that the Maemo Extras repository issue can be easily fixed!

One only needs to change the url in the application catalog to:

http://repostory.maemo.org/extras/

Basically, you'll just remove the letter "I" in repository.

Yay!"

Now I have a N800 that looks like a Iphone.

Thanks a million everyone

Regards Robert

I've applied the fix and got some Python2.5 in App Manager but it seems not the runtime - I've now got Python2.5-storm and 5 others but non seem to be a run time. There's feedparser gpsbt pycurl pyinotify andedje-demo.
What files am I looking for to run Erminig?

Guess I have to "me too" this. I have searched the forum, but it is not obvious to me what all needs to be installed (and where to get it) to have GPE sync with Google. Can someone provide the steps?
