I've spent a little time with the iGo Stowaway keyboard and the N800 and I'm wondering what settings I can change on the N800 when it pairs up to make it work a little better.

The shift key seems to be a toggle between Shift modes and the apostrophe key needs to be mashed a couple of times in order to register, and also seems to have a toggling behavior where it adds accents to certain characters.

Is there a list of settings on the N800 someone can point me to to tweak its behavior and make it more useful? It's annoying to type with right now.

Not sure if you are using OS2007 or OS2008. But in OS2007, you can go into the control panels and double tap on Hardware Keyboard. In this app, it will allow you to select one of 3 keyboards. I have found the "Generic 105-key PC" keyboard to work the best for me.

There is probably a way to edit the details of this spec, but I haven't found it (read: remap some of the keys). Perhaps someone with more info can fill us in.

I hope this helps,

Craig...

BTW, I believe there is a OS2008 equivalent, just don't remember what it is called.

Yes, I'm running OS2008, and I've selected it as a Generic keyboard.

Hmm... It could be the keyboard itself. I am on my second iGo because the first one had "dead" keys. I say that in quotes because the keys would come and go, mostly they weren't there after the keyboard was folded all night long. After laying flat for a while, the keys would work.

I bought a second iGo kbd (for $30 at Amazon) and it works just fine.

I hope this helps,

Craig...
